Bombala isn’t exactly Bondi Beach, but if you’re somehow inspired to come here, this is a great place to stay. Our room was spacious and charismatic, with huge ceilings, massive windows, and some interesting stone stairs built into the bathroom. If you're curious to see a platypus, there are plenty in the river, just a block away. And Priscilla is awesome. She’s a lively, warm hostess with a great sense of humor. Breakfast is an informal affair (cereal, toast, juice, coffee, tea), but there’s plenty to eat, and Priscilla makes you feel like her kitchen is your kitchen. If you need dinner or drinks, her restaurant next door is the busiest and best place in town. My only complaints are minor: the small room heater struggled to keep the large bedroom and bathroom warm, and the bathroom wasn’t obsessively spotless—the floors and walls and bathtub were reasonably clean, but could use some extra love. Still a great stay, though. Stayed August 2012, travelled as a couple.

Excellent value for money. I would recommend this place for a stay and for dinner. Very friendly service, along with excellent food! Could not ask for more!!!

We only stayed 1 night but experienced fantastic country hospitality. Owner Les went out of his way to make us feel at home and even shared a bottle of wine with us after dinner around the open fire and we exchanged a lot of stories with fellow guests. Rooms were beautifully presented, clean, comfortable bed, heating to chase away the early morning frost and we will happily recommend this establishment as one of the best

My husband, son and myself have just spent a night in the Heritage Guesthouse. The building is beautiful. The rooms are very clean. We ate at the restaurant Priscilla's at the Heritage, what a lovely little place to eat and the food was very enjoyable. In the morning we were offered breakfast and nothing was too much trouble for helpful man that was on brekkie duty. Take the time to walk down to the river and you will not be disappointed as there are platypus swimming there and lots of them. Although the building is on the main street it is so very quiet in the night time. I would recommend for anyone to stay here. The smile on Priscilla's face morning and night is a welcoming sight.

We had a wonderful stay at the Heritage. The staff was very nice and helpful and room big, neat and clean. The bathroom was roomy and very fresh. Breakfast is very basic (the included continental) and leaves a lot to wish for. The location is really good right on Maybe St with ample parking available on the sidestreet. Theres a restaurant across the courtyard which belongs to the hotel. Stayed February 2012.

Clean, comfortable & convenient ...... what more could we want? We booked ahead and arrived late in the afternoon to a very warm welcome by Priscilla. Shown our room, explained where everything was, how to use the keys, about breakfast, dinner and what to see within the town. Including a suggestion to go for a walk along the riverside to see the platypus. We unpacked and found the room to be large, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was huge with an amazing shower. It did not disappoint. It was simply the best. We went for a walk along the beautiful river and yes we did see platypus. We had dinner at the restaurant next door where Priscilla prepares and cooks all the meals. Again, we were not disappointed. Food was superb and very large servings. Had an excellent sleep in a comfortable bed, up early for another walk along the riverside and back in time for breakfast. Cereals, toast, juice, tea, coffee etc .... more than enough. Priscilla and Les explained a lot about the town and what to see in the region. in summary: a very old, but clean and comfortable Guesthouse right in the heart of beautiful Bombala. Great food & atmosphere, well worth the $120.00 we paid (that included breakfast) and we would most certainly return here and would highly recommend The Heritage Guesthouse to others. Room Tip: we chose ground floor for no other reason than I was just too lazy to climb stairs!

“Fantastic retreat in the rural NSW” We were on a road trip from Melbourne to Canberra and wanted to drive a different way. How lucky we were to find this gem. Very comfortable and welcoming in unseasonably cold weather. We stopped to watch the platypus in the river on our way. How beautiful:) I highly recommend this country retreat.

“Clean and cosy” What a great find. Really cosy and warm comfortable place to stay. We had the upstairs spa room, which was fully and tastefully renovated to fit in with the heritage feel. The hosts Les and Pricilla who is an impeccable and fastidious cleaner and house keeper, who went out of their way to welcome us warmly. Would highly recommend this place. The next door restaurant was also very good.

“Unique, clean and comfortable” Our booking was messed up in the beginning with only being booked in for two adults but we needed a room for two adults and one child, luckily this wasn't a problem and we were given a room to suit. What a unique place. It is the old bank building and has great character. It was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was included in the dining room. All the beds had electric blankets and air conditioning. Priscilla and Les are very friendly and welcoming. They have a restaurant at the back of the building which we ate in both nights of our stay and the food was delicious.

“Clean, comfortable and warm” Stayed 2 nights here with family booking out the other rooms (so seen all they had to offer) very very clean. Some rooms layed out oddly with stairs, but its a old histotic building so to be expected. Beds were made daily, sheets ironed. Very warm in the cold weather. Comfortable sleep. Antique furniture makes it a cute country town stay. Could not fault it in anyway.

“Real Australia !” My daughter and I have been travelling around NSW and Victoria and had the pleasure of staying with Les at his wonderful guest house. He was really helpful and it was relaxing to stroll along the riverbank and watch the platypus play in the waterhole. Everything you could wish for on the long drive from Sydney to Melbourne.

“Comfortable and friendly guesthouse” I spent four nights at The Heritage and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I had "The Maid's Room", which was comfortable, quiet and ideal with an ensuite bathroom and toilet. The owners make you feel welcome and are very knowledgeable of the local area. Breakfast is a range of cereals, juices, tea and coffee. Priscilla's licensed restaurant is part of the guesthouse and provides wonderful meals in a very friendly atmosphere. I've stayed there on two occasions and will again next time I visit Bombala.

“Charming” Stayed one night here whilst travelling up to Jindabyne from Bairnsdale (long day driving via Mckillops Bridge) & enjoyed the uniqueness of the property which was comfortable, very well located & good value. Hostess & host were generous in their time & the meal was very reasonable. Went searching for the elusive platypus but not this time!

“Comfirtable and friendly” The Heritage Guesthouse is exactly that - a guesthouse. It is in the old bank building and all four of the rooms are upstairs. The rooms all looked to be a good size and have their own bathrooms. The owners are wonderful and friendly. Make sure you eat in their restaurant - wonderful food.
